YSRCP demands probe into CBN's tryst with legal system : Jun 1,2012

YSR Congress Party on Friday demanded an inquiry into the way in which TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu has managed the judiciary while he was in power and cited an example to show how government funds were channelled to a place of worship from where the beneficiary hails from.
“TDP government has  issued two GOs sanctioning Rs 10 lakhs to the Ranganadha Perumal Temple of Devakottai village in Tamil Nadu and a copy of the GOs were marked to the then High Court Chief Justice, AR Lakshmanan, who also hails from Devkottai village,” Party spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao told reporters here.
Chandrababu Naidu skills of managing judiciary has been highlighted by many people on many occasions but no provision in the State Government manual says that it is mandatory to issue a copy of all GOs it has issued to the High Court Chief Justice.
In this case, Chief Justice AR Lakshmanan hails from Devkotta village of Sivganga district and since the funds were allotted from the Common Good Fund by the Endowments Department, it is obvious that it is an act of appeasement, Gattu said demanded that an inquiry should be ordered into the GOs and why a copy was marked to the Chief Justice.
“It is not sheer coincidence that the Endowments Department has issued Rs 4 lakhs by a GO dated May 3, 2002 and Rs 6 lakhs by a second GO dated June 19 2002 while Justice AR Lakshmanan was the Chief Justice of AP High Court between November 26, 2001 and December 20, 2002,"he said adding that YSRCP will take the issue to the people.
Government giving funds to temples of other states is not objectionable, but it becomes appeasement when the temple happens to be the native place of the Chief Justice and it becomes highly objectionable if a copy of the GO is sent to judicial head, he said.
While there is propaganda that YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who is a victim and in no way concerned with the Government, will tamper the evidence and manage the courts if he is given bail, the fact remains that N Chandrababu Naidu has proven credentials of managing people.
The wife of the judge inquiring into the Yeleru scam suddenly gets a job in NIMS, Justice Kukru gets appointed to Human Rights Commission and his wife gets a job in MCRHRD Institute… these are but some coincidences which go on the lines of temple donation formula.
James Manor of the Department for International Development (DFID) in his report has mentioned that N Chandrababu Naidu can manage government and judiciary in his report is a well-known fact. Echoing the same feeling is a legal figure BSA Swamy who circulated a letter in which he mentioned the how Naidu could manage the situation by taking advantage of the gaps in legal system.
Ever since TDP came to power in 1983 and he switched to it from Congress, he has been nurturing legal personalities who in due course of time have attained high offices and he has been using it to the maximum advantage like the not before clause.
Whenever he faces some rough weather, Reliance Company suddenly impleads into the case and the judge withdraws on the grounds of Not Before… as he or she holds some shares of the companies. This has happened on many occasions, he said.
Naidu’s own co-brother Daggubati Venkateswara Rao in his recent book, The Other Side of Truth (Oka Charitra Konni Nijalu) has given a detailed account of the manipulative skills of Chandrababu Naidu.
Ensuring that second rung of leadership does not grow up and managing legal persons by Chandrababu Naidu has been mentioned in the book in detail.
Chandrababu Naidu could manage to hijack the Party from NTR, who is the founder president of TDP, and steer clear on the legal and legislature arena and Congress which has been looking for guidance towards him, he said.
Such people trying to accuse Jagan of managing the judiciary is ridiculous, he said adding that some people were trying to make most of corruption charge against the CBI judge Pattabhi Rama Rao.
