YSR Congress Party on Monday challenged TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu to first prove his innocence in the various corruption charges he is facing and then seek people’s mandate.
“The man who once called CBI as the Congress Bureau of Investigation is now having a secret pact with the Delhi Congress leaders while our leader is fighting Delhi tooth and nail and has been cooperating with CBI,’” YSRC party spokesperson Jupudi Prabhakar Rao told reporters here.
“Naidu has ganged up with the Congress leaders in Delhi and taking refuge in stay orders,” he said.
Doling out the manipulative politics of Naidu throughout his political career, Jupudi alleged that the probe into the corruption charges against him was limited only up to 2004 while in the case of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy it went much before that year.
Naidu had always been in the backdrop in all the dealings ever since he became the chief minister and his Dubai connection was a known affair along with the manipulation of bids and Emaar Company affairs, he said.
The TDP Chief should volunteer and get a clean chit from CBI before going for a mandate, he said.
He also criticised the Congress Government for scaling down the security of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on three occasions and the State should take responsibility should there be any harm to him.
Desecration of Ambedkar statues
YSRC took strong objection to desecration of Ambedkar statues at Amalapuram in East Godavari district in the wee hours and demanded firm action against those involved.
“The Government should take action against the perpetrators,” Jupudi said adding that YSRC condemns defacing the statues.
He also found fault with the Congress Government for being silent when TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu was giving provocative speeches of removing YSR statues.
“We do not have the culture of removing statues. YSR always respected NTR,” he said.
