Cong rebel MLAs seek disqualification

Press Release
“We have accepted that we defied the whip and asked the speaker to take immediate action against us without any delay,” they told reporters here on Monday.
We have given a letter under section 151 sub clause (a) whereby we have accepted that we have received the whip and we have defied it and sought disqualification to pave way for by-elections.
They flayed Congress whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy for his remarks on the rebel MLAs and seeking a ban on turn coats.
“If that be the case, the provision of recall should also be implemented strictly. The Congress has gone back on its 2009 poll promises and has been imposing heavy burden on people through taxes and hike in power tariff and bus fares,” they said. On that count Congress Party has to be derecognised for not honouring its poll promises, they said.
Since the main opposition TDP did not respond positively to the pressing demands of the people and has helped the Congress and its anti-people policies, we joined the smaller parties that have moved the no confidence motion, they said.
Congress whip who has been boasting that his party will win should know that his party has won just two of the 52 by-elections held after the death of YSR.
