YSR laid path for Telangana development: Vijayamma
12 Nov 2012 12:47 PM

Asserting that YSR laid
the path for the development of Telangana area and treated all regions equally,
YSR Congress Party honourary president Smt. Y. S. Vijayamma reiterated that
neither YSR nor Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy opposed the aspirations of Telangana
people at any time.
Addressing a huge
public meeting on Sunday at Suryapet in Nalgonda district where former Tungaturdi
TDP MLA Sankineni Venkateswara Rao joined YSRCP, Vijayamma said YSR observed
the difficulties of Telangana people from close range.
Vijayamma said Telangana
farmers benefited most when YSR announced free power supply to farmers and waiver
of power bill dues soon after becoming CM in 2004. “Telangana was given
importance in the Jalayagnam projects. Ali Sagar, APRP, SRSP Stage-2,
Yellampalli and Nettampadu projects falling in the Telangana area were granted
funds by YSR,” she said.
YSR got all clearances for
the Pranahita-Chevella Project aimed at providing irrigation water to 16.50
lakh acres in Telangana, she said, adding but the present government has
totally failed to implement the project.
Paying tributes to the
Telangana martyrs and those who laid down their lives after the death of YSR,
Vijayamma said the efforts of Congress and TDP to remove the memories of YSR
from the minds of the Telangana people would fail utterly.
Wondering whether
Government is there at all in the state, Vijayamma criticized TDP chief
Chandrababu Naidu for making impractical promises to the people during his
Padayatra and supporting the anti-people policies of the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government.
