Hyderabad, In protest against the indifference of State Government in tackling the drought situation, YSR Congress Party leaders would submit memorandum to officials at mandal level on May 4 and 5 and will intensify the agitation if steps are not taken in providing succor to the farmers and other sections.
“The State is ignoring the drought situation in state which is facing acute drinking water shortage, lack of MSP to the agriculture produce and failing to set up the Market Stabilisation Fund which Chandrababu Naidu had promised during the elections,” party senior leader Dr MV Mysoora Reddy told reporters here on Sunday.
Though the BJP and its ally TDP have promised to implement the Swaminathan Commission Report, farmers are not getting MSP and no funds were released to handle the acute drinking water problem. There are no effective steps to stop the migration of labour and no reports with proper assessment were sent to Centre on drought situation.
