YSRCP condemns attacks on dalits

Vijayawada, Aug 10: Condemning the
brutal attack on dalits by miscreants in the garb of Go Rakshana Samithi, YSR
Congress has condemned the government inaction on the issue.

‘TDP and BJP workers in the name of Go
Rakshana samithi have indiscriminately beaten up dalits for peeling the skin of
dead cows and the state has failed to take action till now,’ party MLA Uppuleti
Kalpana told reporters here on Wednesday.

 Dalits have been skinning dead animals
and it has been their profession since long and the attacks on SCs and STs are
on the rise, she said. 

Ever since TDP and BJP came to power in
the state and centre respectively, the attacks on dalits and minorities have
been on the rise country wide and in Andhra Pradesh as well, she said.
