Hyderabad, Oct 18,
2013: YSR Congress Party on Friday announced it would approach a competent
court of law challenging the Lok Sabha Speaker’s decision rejecting the
resignations of its three MPs.
In a statement
issued here, Party Chief Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said Speaker has rejected
his resignation and those of Mekapati Raja Mohan Reddy and SPY Reddy.
While Sri Jagan
Mohan Reddy and Mekapati Rajamohana Reddy submitted their quit letters opposing
the Centre’s decision to bifurcate the state more than two and a half months
ago, SPY Reddy also submitted his resignation to the Speaker after he had
joined the YSRCP.
The party will now
challenge the decision of the Speaker Meira Kumar who rejected their
resignations under rule 240 and article101 (3).
