YSR built Pulichintala project

Guntur: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy proudly declared that the reason for the prosperity of farmers in this region was due to the Pulichintala project which was built due to late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy's efforts. Speaking at a massive public gathering in Pedakurapadu as part of Praja Sankalpa Yatra, YS Jagan pointed out during the nine years of Chandrababu Naidu’s rule not even a single project was initiated. "On the other hand people still remember the good work done by the late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy."

The YSRCP President alleged that if there was one thing which was pervasive under the TDP rule, it was corruption. He recalled that his father the late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy had a special place in his heart for Guntur. He pointed out that Pulichintala project has a total water capacity of 45 TMC, but the farmers faced problems due to Chandrababu who has been promising for four years that they would build storage tanks for water.

Addressing a huge gathering, YS Jagan referred to a recently released Telugu film MLA, which had a tagline called "Manchi Lakshanalunna Abbayi" (person with good qualities). "But the meaning of MLA in this constituency is Mammullu Lanchalu teesukune Abbayi (person who takes commissions and bribes)," he said. He said that the corrupt were usually afraid, but in AP, they were fearless and were brazen about it since the CM, was the fountainhead and others were his partners, including MLA and Chinna Babu (referring to Nara Lokesh).

The Opposition Leader pointed out that this government did not spare anything, from sand to water to even lands meant for temples. He said a local MLA tried to take away the lands belonging to Sadavarthi Satram. "There were 84 acres of land and each acre was valued at Rs one crore. The MLA had planned to buy it for Rs 10 lakhs per acre. Having understood the plans of the MLA, our YSRCP workers intervened and helped them to get market rate for the lands," he recalled.

YS Jagan said that women's self-help groups were also cheated. When he asked the audience if at least one rupee was waived from the loans taken by the groups, women replied in the negative loudly. The YSRCP President said that in the name of loan waiver, Chandrababu had cheated the state to the tune of Rs 87,000 crores. It was not clear if the farmers got back the gold which they pledged in the banks, but they had got the bank notices for sure, he commented.

YSRCP Chief informed the massive public gathering that Chandrababu had promised to give Rs 2,000 to every household without employment. It has been 48 months since he has come to power and no household has got the amount. So the government owed Rs 96,000 to every household in the state, he said and called upon all the unemployed youth to question the TDP chief about it.

The Leader of Opposition pointed out that earlier every house was paying electricity charges between Rs 50-100 while now the charges have gone up to Rs 500-1000 per house. He observed that over the last four years the AP CM had hiked the electricity tariff three times.

YS Jagan said that unlike earlier days, the PDS shops were distributing only rice. "Most of the people complain that the fair price shopkeepers claim that they are not able to identify the finger prints and cut down the ration of at least two people in a house," he informed.

YS Jagan informed that in the neighbouring states like Karnataka and Telangana, fuel prices were lesser by Rs 6-7. The YSRCP Chief added that one need not be surprised if TDP promises one kilogram of gold and a Benz car to every household in the state during the next elections.
