YS Jagan's powerful punch to Chandrababu

Chirala: Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu's claims that he is striving for Special Category Status (SCS) are misleading the people and indicates his lack of commitment, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said.

Addressing a public meeting in Chirala town on the 108th day of the Praja Sankalpa Yatra, on Saturday, he said since four years the chief minister has been changing his stance on SCS. "He supports the NDA government's special package offer and when the pressure from the people and the YSRCP increases, he starts supporting the SCS," YS Jagan said. The chief minister has finally understood the pulse of the people and began supporting the SCS, the YSRCP chief said and called to support the no confidence motion against the NDA government.

"In 2015 union minister Arun Jaitley stated that AP will get a special package not SCS. He repeated the same statement a couple of days ago. If only, Chandrababu directed his ministers to resign in 2015, AP would have got SCS by now. The TDP and its leader continuously changed their statements on the issue since four years. Are they serious now about SCS? The answer is "no" because though the TDP ministers resigned from the union cabinet, they want to continue the alliance with NDA. That indicates a lack of commitment from the TDP," YS Jagan told the massive gathering.

If all the Parliamentarians from Andhra Pradesh resign en masse, there will be an impact on the Central government and it will be forced to act on SCS, the YSRCP chief said. "However, the AP chief minister fails to understand the larger interests of the state. He is busy with corruption and commissions from irrigation and realty projects," YS Jagan  said.

The entire four years of TDP administration is noted for lies, deceit, delayed projects and non-implementation of welfare schemes, he said and called on the people to refrain from electing such a corrupt government in the ensuing elections. "An elected leader should stand by his promises to the people. If the elects fails to act on his promises, then he has no right to continue to lead the state," YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said while seeking the public support to bring about a change in government in Andhra Pradesh.
