Porumamilla: Kadapa MP, YS Avinash Reddy, expressed readiness to go as far as required to save the person kidnapped by TDP leaders and bring him to his family. Along with Kadapa mayor, Suresh Babu, he went to Porumamilla and discussed with local leaders in YSRCP office. They spoke to Dr. Gous Peer's family and minority leaders and found out the details of kidnap of Murtuja Hussain. They assured to stand for the family and went on to speak with the SP to get the case solved. Then, accompanied by YSRCP leaders and activists, they marched to the police station.
No proper response from the police
MP YS Avinash Reddy and the mayor met CI Padmanathan and SI Obanna at the police station and discussed this. The police informed them that they had seized the car at Proddutur and stated that they would capture the kidnapper through the driver and the car's owner. They promised to bring Murtuja back by the nightfall.
MP spoke to say that there had been no action from the police despite the kidnap happening on Sunday, as it was known to them that there was involvement of TDP leaders.
Speaking to the media at the police station, the MP stated that they were planning to stage an indefinite hunger strike, but the SP had promised to solve the kidnap case by the evening and they would go ahead with the plan if Murtuja was not brought back by the nightfall. Calling kidnapping the toxic culture of TDP, he complained that the party had raised curtains for faction in the otherwise peaceful Porumamilla area. Participating in the programme were mayor Suresh Babu, Nagarjuna Reddy, Ravi Prakash Reddy, CM Basha and others.
