Vijayamma vows to continue the battle

Hyderabad, May 9, 2013: YSRCP honourary president Smt. Y.S. Vijayamma on Thursday welcomed the
Supreme Court decision on the bail petition of party Chief Sri
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy but reiterated the party’s stand that Congress and
TDP had conspired and have been using CBI against him.

Though the SC’s rejection of bail has disappointed the
Party leaders and activists in the wake of expectations over bail, the
party will continue fighting on behalf of people under the direction of Sri
Jagan Mohan Reddy with renewed vigour and determination, she
told a media conference here after the apex court’s decision.

“As people’s party, YSRCP will continue to stand by
people and fight to find solutions to various issues dogging them. I appeal to
party leaders, cadres and the people to keep their composure and not get
disheartened,” she said.

Saying that the party is very much confident of attaining
complete majority and forming the Government after
the next elections, she challenged both Congress party and TDP
to disqualify their 18 MLAs who voted against party
whip during the recent no-trust vote.

“We are ready to face the by-polls, local
body polls and even the assembly elections at any point of time
and we are confident of winning,” she said exuding confidence. CBI, which
had probed the allegations for nearly ten months before the arrest of Sri Jagan
Mohan Reddy and continued its probe for nearly a year after
his arrest has so far proved nothing against him, she said,
adding that it was normal for the Congress leadership to harass the political opponents since the Indira Gandhi times.

“Indira Gandhi jailed even great leaders like
Jaya Prakash Narayan, Morarji Desai and
Prof.Madhu Dandavate for 18 months without ensuring bail for opposing
her emergency rule,” she said and charged the Congress leadership with adopting
the same old techniques of harassing political opponents now.

Like YSR who worked for people’s welfare till his last
breath, she said, the YSR family will always stand by people and for people’s
welfare. “Like YSR, Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy will also strive for people’s welfare
and the party will continue to work under his direction,” Smt. Vijayamma said.

She accused the CBI of misleading the courts by
giving different versions in its arguments.  “It once said after filing
four charge-sheets that 70 per cent of the probe was over but now it is
seeking four months further to complete the probe. How can he influence
witnesses while the accused ministers who allowed to be free cannot?,” she
asked. The CBI has also been giving different figures of the
alleged fraud amount talking of Rs.800 Cr, Rs.40,000 Cr and One lakh Cr
at different times and misleading the courts, she said.

“We know the Congress won the Karnataka polls by tearing
away the BJP into pieces,” she said, reiterating that YSRCP will form the next
Government despite the tantrums of the Congress.
