Vijayamma condoles death of PB Srinivas

Hyderabad, April 15,
2013: YSR Congress Party honourary president Smt. Y.S. Vijayamma expressed her profound
condolences over the death of veteran cine playback singer P.B. Srinivas.

PB Srinivas entertained
the people with his melodious voice for several decades singing songs in all
four south Indian languages, she said, adding, his death left a void in the music
industry.

“Music lovers will forever
remember his voice even though he is not there physically among us,” Smt. Vijayamma
said, adding PB Srinivas, being a master of 8 languages including Sanskrit,
also penned poetry on Nobel Laureate Ravindranath Tagore at the request of
Santiniketan.

“The melody in the
voice of PB Srinivas, who also created a new raga called Navaneeta Sudha in
Karnatic music, had flowed from the south to the north,” she said, expressing
her sympathies to the bereaved family members.
