Venkaiah Shielding Chandrababu Burying SCS

Hyderabad, Feb 3: Chandrababu Naidu has totally surrendered to Centre after the cash for vote and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu announcing that he has been coming to the rescue of Chief Minister shows that the two persons are working in tandem to pursue their personal agenda at the cost of the state interests and we will fight for Special Category Status (SCS) and other people’s issues at every available front, YSR Congress has said.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday party senior leader Bhumana Karunakara Reddy said: ‘Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu in an interview has openly declared that he has been safeguarding Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu while the opposition party in the state has been raising unnecessary issues which shows that the two-some have a secret agenda and wanted to put SCS to rest but we will not allow that to happen.

Why there was no mention about SCS in the Union Budget and why there was no reaction from TDP leadership is an indication that Chandrababu Naidu has surrendered after the cash for vote case and Venkaiah Naidu has brokered peace and terms for the truce at the cost of the state interests which include foregoing the demand for SCS.’

We will not allow the SCS issue to die down and will fight for it. It was Venkaiah Naidu who has raised the issue in Rajya Sabha during the state division and had asked for 15 years SCS instead of 5 years and the same demand was parroted by Chandrababu Naidu during the Tirupati meeting which was also attended by Narender Modi.

‘Now they conveniently try to subvert it and bring to the fore Special package which is nothing but bouquet of sops already included in the State division Act and wanted the people to believe that it a substitute for SCS which no one is prepared to accept,’ he said.

While no effort was put to bring in schemes and funds for the people welfare, unlike YSR who had shown the way to the nation in terms of welfare schemes, Chandrababu Naidu has been going on a publicity spree that there is a windfall of investments into the states.

He has announced that MoUs were signed for Rs 10.5 lakh crores of investments and during the previous yea Rs 4.65 lakh core investments have come in. Yet the unemployment is still on the rise and no stipend is being paid, there are no drinking water facilities in thousands of villages and none of parameters for development and increased standard of living has been visible.

We will continue to fight for SCS despite the Union Minister shielding Chief Minister and his histrionics in publicity, he said.
