Proddutur: Describing the indefinite postponement of Prodduturu municipal chairman election as day light murder of democracy, the YSRCP leaders said that they will continue legal political battle to its logical conclusion.
Addressing media persons in Prodduturu, Party MP YS Avinash Reddy and MLA Rachamallu Siva Prasad Reddy alleged that the entire administrative machinery including the election commission has colluded with the government. Stating that the government had misused the power to get the election postponed as the numbers are in favour of YSRCP, Avinash Reddy hoped that the court will take up the case as suo moto.
Meanwhile, taking a dig at the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the MLA Rachamallu alleged that the Chief Minister is the real culprit in the murder of democracy and added that the district in charge had made a futile bid to rope in the YSRCP councilors to their side and offered Rs. 5o lakhs to each.
He further alleged that the police remained silent spectators to TDP leader’s goonda-ism and rowdy-ism in their presence. He said that YSRCP will go to any extent to save democracy in the State.
It may be recalled here that Prodduturu municipal chairman election scheduled for April 15 has been postponed, first to April 16 and ultimately indefinitely due to ruckus created by the TDP members in council hall.
