TDP in jitters on Jagan’s tour

Hyderabad, Jan 18: YSR Congress has said
that TDP Government is in jitters when Leader
of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had announced his tour
programme in the capital area region and has resorted to repressive measures
though it was found wanting on many counts in land pooling.

 Speaking to reporters here on
Wednesday party leader K Pardhasaradhi said: ‘the government has been
resorting to repressive measures and has been threatening the people who would
be meeting YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during his tour of the capital area on
Thursday.

He would be touring the region to
interact with the farmers whose land was forcibly taken away, no compensation
was paid or those were being harassed by the government for moving court as
they did not want to part with their land.’

The state has bungled at every step in
the land pooling system and has taken away fertile land to an extent of 33,000
acres from the farmers though there was forest and barren land available and
the move was only to further the business interests of entrepreneurs
and not farmers’ welfare, he said.

‘The criticism on our leader is only to
cover-up the failures of the Government and the voice gets louder whenever the
Leader of Opposition takes up a tour. The government has assured that it would
give pensions, interest-free loans and other such assurances while
taking away the land but not a single promise was fulfilled.
Chandrababu Nadu has no respect for laws and court verdicts and his
only priority to make sure that his coterie benefits at the cost of the
farmer,’ he said.

Our leader will be touring the area to
give moral support and take up the cause of the farmers who are affected in the
land pooling and YSR Congress is not against development and the State should
shun from repressive measures, he said.
