Guntur: The YSRCP leaders have lashed out at the TDP government for failing to allocate the plots, which were granted during late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy's rule, to the beneficiaries.
Demanding the allocation of plots to Indiramma beneficiaries, the YSRCP leaders under the leadership of Guntur city president Lella Appireddy staged a dharna at the Guntur Housing centre. YSRCP MLAs Pinneli Ramakrishna Reddy, Gopireddy Srinivas Reddy, Mustafa, party's district president Marri Rajasekhar and Sc Cell President Meruga Nagarjun took part in the dharna and slammed AP CM Chandrababu Naidu over the allocation of plots to the poor.
Speaking at the dharna, YSRCP MLA Pinneli Ramakrishna Reddy said that the people's leader YSR decided to construct 2450 pucca houses for urban poor beneficiaries in Guntur. He had immediately granted funds to speed up the works and the beneficiaries also contributed some money.
But the works were halted after the demise of YSR. " The TDP government has failed miserably in completing the pending works. And some TDP leaders are removing the real beneficiaries and adding their supporters in the list. Some TDP leaders acting like brokers and collecting money saying they will allot the plots." the YSRCP MLA alleged.
He warned the Government that they will launch massive protests on March 5th if it failed to provide flats to the poor before March 1.
