Ananthapuram: YSRCP's student wing staged an agitation in protest against the Union Budget 2017-18. Students from various districts conducted hunger strike on Saturday.
Senior YSRCP leader and former MLA, Gurnatha Reddy, initiated the deeksha staged at Ananthapuram. YSRCP student wing's state president, Salam Babu, spoke on this occasion to slam the Congress Government of that time for unjustly bifurcating the state and current BJP Government for not sanctioning the special category status that it had promised the people of AP.
He expressed concern about the promises like special package for backward areas, special category status, special railway zone for Visakhapatnam not being mentioned in the union budget. He also remarked that TDP Government had failed to get the funds promised by the centre. Salam Babu also criticised Chandrababu's negligence to the promises he made to the youth like a job for every household and stipend for the unemployed.
Students slammed Chandrababu's governance in the hunger strike held at SK University in Tirupati.
