YS Jagan warns coalition: local body polls

Chandrababu mocking at democracy

Tadepalli, Oct 18: Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has affirmed that the coalition is scared of defeat and is conspiring to stall the Opposition from filing nomination which shows the level at which democracy is being mocked at but we will continue the fight till its logical end.
Speaking to media here on Sunday, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said despite officials, police and TDP goons taking over the election process, Chandrababu still lacks confidence on the mandate and is mocking at democracy by attacking YSRCP candidates and snatching away nomination papers.
The measure of atrocities is unprecedented with YSRCP candidates’ nomination papers being snatched away and their associates being attacked, false cases being foisted, kidnapping, arson, intimidation all under the watch of police. Asserting that this a passing phase, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said, all erring persons will have to face the consequences in the coming days.
We have conduced local elections with a staunch TDP supporter Nimmagadda Ramesh as SEC and could sweep the elections with over 90 percent strike rate. Chanddrababu on the other hand has an equally loyal TDP person as SEC now but still is resorting to such heinous tactics which shows that he is scared of the imminent defeat as he failed to fulfill poll promises in contrast to YSRCP going to polls then after honouring its manifesto. He has no intention to conduct a free and fair election and the people’s mandate will expose his flop show, he said adding that Election Commissioners being appointed by political persons is not a fair and this is a flaw in the system.
Our MPs in Kadapa, Punganuru, Tirupati were stopped and were not allowed and nomination papers were snatched away or not received and their vehicles were attacked and supprtes beaten up by TDP goons. At Pulivendula, the police behaved like TDP cadre and had pelted stones, fired in the air and tried to terrorize candidates who came to file the papers. Police firing at candidates who came to file their papers is unprecedented. While police is allowing TDP goons gathering in a mob, YSRCP cadre is not allowing even the permitted four persons inside the Nomination Centre.
YSRCP candidates were not allowed to file their papers with officials, police and ruling party goons working in tandem but still we will carry out the fight it out, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said and lauded the boldness and undeterred stoic resolve of all those who are part of the fight against the undemocratic governance. Time will come all those erring will have to face the consequences.
Even on the last day of nominations there are many places where a single nomination was not allowed to be filed by YSRCP. Be it Tirupati, Kadapa, Kamalapuram Rayachoti, Punganuru, Rayachoi, Darsi, Gurazala, Dachepalli, Pidigurala, Budwel, Rajampeta and other places.
The election process itself has been laden in conspiracy. A day after reservations were announced, election schedule was announced leaving no time for others to prepare though the government is a privy to the information.
Though SIR has identified 46 lakh fake voters,, the government has decided to go ahead with the polls with unrevised voter list which shows the beginning of the conspiracy. The bifurcation of divisions and wards was done in tune with their advantage, yet Chandrababu has no confidence to go for free and fair polls.
When the Opposition comes up with candidates, they are not allowed to file papers, their nominations were snatched away, false cases were foisted and everything on the other side of the law happening right under the nose of police.
