Spurious Seed Companies mushrooming in AP: YSRCP

Vijayawada: YSR Congress party senior leader Samineni Udaya Bhanu said that the spurious seed companies are mushrooming in Andhra Pradesh with the support of Chandrababu Naidu and other ministers. He lambasted the TDP government for not taking action against spurious seed companies which cheated the farmers.

The YSR Congress leader questioned the government for not taking action against the companies which supplied spurious seeds to the farmers of Gumpalagudem in Krishna district. The effected farmers have been fighting for compensation for the last one year but no action was taken from the government.

The enquiry committee also recommended to pay Rs 92,000 compensation to each farmers but it was yet to be enforced, the YSRCP leader said and alleged that the companies were exploiting the farmers with the support of farmer Agriculture minister P Pulla Rao and Irrigation minister Devineni Uma Maheshwara Rao.

The companies have bene cheating Chilli and Cotton farmers for the last three years by supplying spurious seeds.
