Sharmila completes 1000 km of Padayatra

Nalgonda, Feb 18, 2013:Smt.
Y. S. Sharmila on Monday completed the 1000-km mark of her Maro Praja Prasthanam
Padayatra as she reached the Kondrapolu Kalva (canal) in Damarchela Mandalam of
Nalgonda district.

Marking the occasion,
Smt. Sharmila has unveiled the statue of Dr. YSR in a place donated by tribal
farmer Surya Nayak. The farmer has donated a land of 240-sq yards in his agricultural
field for erecting the statue.

The YSR statue was
erected on the land by the villagers voluntarily with their contributions as a
token of repaying their gratitude to the late leader who implemented several
welfare programmes for the poor.

The unveiling of the
statue was witnessed by thousands of people who came from different parts of
the district. A blood donation camp was also organized by YSR fans on the
occasion.

The blood donation camp
was inaugurated by YSR Congress Party senior leader Y.V.Subba Reddy and party
leaders Jitta Balakrishna Reddy, K.K. Mahendar Reddy and Sankineni Venkateswara
Rao also participated in the programme.
