SCS demand: YSRCP MPs continue protest

New Delhi: The YSR Congress Party's fight for Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh is continuing for the second day here. The party has intensified its agitation both in and out of the Parliament. MP YV Subba Reddy has placed a deferred resolution in Lok Sabha demanding a debate on the SCS issue.

On the other side, the YSRCP MPs have staged a protest at the main entrance of the Parliament this morning. Holding placards, the MPs raised slogans of "Special Status AP's Right". Rajya Sabha member Vijaya Sai Reddy, MPs Mekapati Raja Mohan Reddy, YV Subba Reddy, Vara Prasad, Mithun Reddy, etc participated in the protest.

Yesterday, the YSRCP leaders staged an agitation at Delhi's Sansad Marg, demanding the Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh. The Delhi Police have arrested the leaders while they were on their way towards Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh's office to handover a memorandum seeking the SCS for AP.

The party MPs have already announced their plans to take the fight for the SCS in the Parliament and also place a no-confidence motion against the centre on March 21. "If the centre fails to respond even then, our Parliamentarians will resign," said the party leaders.

If the centre does not come down with a solution on SCS for AP before April 5, YSRCP MPs will resign the next day, on April 6th.
