Reniguna, Jan 29, 2013:
YSR Congress party leader Roja has said that it is high time that farmers repay
their debt to Dr. YSR by electing YSRCP-supported candidates in the single
window cooperative society elections.
Speaking to reporters
at Renigunta police station in Chittor district after being arrested on Monday for
questioning the illegalities in the Kayampet single window elections, Roja said
that police have sold out themselves to the DCC president A.Rajasekhara Reddy and
Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and are behaving rude towards those who have
been questioning the irregularities.
Elections to the single
window cooperative societies are taking place on Feb 4 in the district and
nominations were closed on Monday. Several illegalities took place in the
enrollment of members for the elections. Roja, along with another YSRCP leader
Peddireddy Mithun Reddy argued with the officials over the irregularities.
Police arrested both of
them for questioning the officials and demanding action against those
responsible for the irregularities. They were later released by the police.
