Roja demands CBI probe into suicides of Narayana college students

Hyderabad: Demanding a CBI inquiry into the growing suicides in Naryana-Chaitanya group of education institutions, YSR Congress has said that the Minister who owns the group Naryana and Education Minister should be sacked immediately.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, party MLA RK Roja said, the suicide of a girl student in Naryana College of Kadapa has been tried to hush up as it has happened earlier and during the past 3.5 years more than 30 students have died and yet no action was taken.

We demand a CBI probe into the suicide deaths in the Narayana-Charitanya group of education institutions and sack the Municipal Administration Minister Narayana and Education Minister Ganta Srinivas immediately.

In the same college two girl students have committed suicide earlier and the officials tried to hush up the issue and even went to the extent of carrying out the cremation and had budged only when our leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had went on a dharna.

The government has been very negligent in taking action against the educational institutions as they belong to top leaders and minister of the state. We demand that they be suspended immediately and order for an inquiry by a Central agency.

Parents send their children to college for better education and to improve their quality of life while the institutions are playing with their future and are sending back their bodies to the beloved ones, she said.

When there are so many complaints why the state is not closing down the education institutions is very clear that they are being used by the TDP for various other means. Government schools and colleges are being closed down at the slightest provocation but no action has been taken even in such extreme cases, she said.
