Notices issued in IMG Bharata case
27 Aug 2012 3:55 AM

Hyderabad, August 27, 2012: Former chief minister N.Chandrababu Naidu, who escaped from the arm of the law in several petitions filed by YSRCP honourary president YS Vijayamma, is at last facing the music.
The High Court today issued notices to CBI, Central Government, CVC (Chief Vigilance Commissioner) and Union Home Ministry in the case relating to the land allotment to IMG Bharata by N. Chandrababu Naidu when he was the Chief Minister. Notices were also issued to the IMG Bharata.
Hearing a petition filed by auditor Vijaya Sai Reddy and well known journalist ABK Prasad who sought investigation into the land allotment to IMG Bharata during the TDP regime, a division bench consisting of acting chief justice Pinaki Chandra Ghosh and Justice Vilas Afjal Purkar said CBI can’t refuse investigation into the allegations on the pretext of having no resources.
“CBI can’t refuse investigation into the alleged irregularities in the land allotment to IMG Bharata just for the reason that it is handicapped by lack of resources,” said the court issuing notices which are returnable in two weeks.
The petitioners have alleged that Chandrababu Naidu had allotted 850 acres of land worth crores of rupees at damn cheap rates to the IMG Bharata when he was the chief minister and sought a thorough investigation into the land allotment scam.
Though YSR government had later cancelled the land allotment, the decision of the Chandrababu Naidu government was challenged.
