Dt), Feb 8, 2013: Breathing fire on the anti-people policies of Kiran Kumar
Reddy-led Congress Government and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s tacit support
to the Government, Smt Y.S Sharmila has termed both Kiran Kumar Reddy and Naidu
as anti-people and anti-farmer.
“Both are equal in
implementing anti-people and anti-farmer policies. The two leaders are none to each
other in this aspect,” she told people during her interaction at a Rachchabanda
programme at Agipally on Thursday.
Sharmila told the
gathering of villagers, most of them women, that Dr. YSR never increased power
charges during his tenure as CM. “But the present Congress Government has hiked
the power tariff thrice already after the death of YSR making life impossible
for the commoners. Even Chandrababu
Naidu also hiked the power charges 8 times during his regime,” she said, adding
that both are equal in implementing ant-people policies.
There was never a power
crisis during the regime of Dr.YSR, she observed, adding that when YSR became
the CM first time, he supplied free power to farmers for 7 hours and when he
became the CM second time, he took steps to supply free power for 9 hours. “But
the Congress Government doesn’t know how to tackle the power crisis which was
the result of the maladministration by CM Kiran Kumar Reddy.”
Most of the women who
partook in the Rachchabanda told her they are suffering due to lack of drinking
water, power cuts for longer hours and non-receipt of pensions. “We have
entered into the dark age after the death of Dr. YSR,” the women told Smt.

When a 75-year old
person complained that he stopped getting pension from March 2010 onwards,
Sharmila told the old man: “Your curse will not go waste and the Government
will pay the consequences.”
