Let us prove we are people’s party

Hyderabad, Feb 20,
2013: Giving a clarion call to the party rank and file to highlight the problems
of the people at every stage, YSR Congress party honourary President Smt. Y. S.
Vijayamma stressed on the importance of strengthening the party further at the
grass root level.

Addressing the party
leaders, MLAs, MLCs, members of the Political Affairs Committee at an extended
meeting of the party at Lotus Pond on Wednesday, she asked the party leaders to
fight to ensure that people’s problems are solved on priority basis.

“As our party President
Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, our party was born to serve people and we have
to prove ours is a people’s party and the party of the poor,” she suggested and
added that interaction with people should continue at all levels to strengthen
the party and keep it vibrant in the years ahead.

Smt. Vijayamma also
told the party leaders that she would soon visit the districts and meet the
local leaders to discuss party organizational issues and chalk out programmes
to strengthen the party from the very grass root level further.

“There is a need to
transform ourselves into a disciplined and cadre based party and we must
strengthen it from the grass root level by continuing to enroll new members
into the party as per the express wish of our party president,” she said,
adding that the party has decided to form party committees at ward, village,
town and at every other level.

Asking the party
leaders to coordinate with the headquarters to continue the enrollment of
members, Smt. Vijayamma said there should be no respite on the issue of
members’ enrollment.

“It is the wish of
party president Sri .Jagan Mohan Reddy that all party leaders and cadres should
be well prepared to face the local body polls which are likely to be followed
by the elections to the assembly,” she exhorted the gathering of party MLAs,
MLCs and other senior leaders.

The meeting was also
attended by YSRCP MP Mekapati Rajamohana Reddy.
