TDP plot to rig Pulivendula polls with outsiders: MP Avinash Reddy

Pulivendula, Oct 31: Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy warned of a massive conspiracy to rig the Pulivendula municipal elections through bogus voting, booth capturing and intimidation, with thousands of outsiders being mobilised while over 900 YSRCP workers face false criminal cases.
Addressing the media in Pulivendula, Avinash Reddy condemned the destruction of YSRCP leaders' vehicles by TDP coalition workers in Jammalamadugu during the concluding hours of campaigning. He said such attacks, alongside two weeks of violence in Kadapa, were intended to provoke YSRCP workers and intimidate voters. Complaints have already been submitted to the Election Commission and High Court.
He stated that police had conducted house searches and attempted arrests targeting hundreds of YSRCP workers, while thousands of TDP supporters were being brought from neighbouring constituencies. Around 2,000 women from Mydukur and Proddatur were being mobilised, alongside groups from Jammalamadugu and Kamalapuram, to gather near polling stations early on polling day.
Avinash Reddy warned outsiders against impersonating local voters and urged every resident to exercise their own franchise. He highlighted attempts to discourage voters from visiting polling stations by claiming their votes would be cast for them.
He also questioned the incomplete distribution of voter slips, even in wards with 1,300 voters, warning that undistributed slips could be misused for impersonation.
Demanding effective protection for polling agents, functional CCTV surveillance at every polling station and preservation of footage in accordance with Supreme Court directions, he warned that electoral irregularities would be challenged through election petitions.
He announced that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's scheduled visit had been rescheduled, and that Jagan would reach Pulivendula by Sunday afternoon. He urged the Election Commission to prevent outsider interference and ensure peaceful, fear-free polling.
