Gattu asks JP to close shop and merge with TDP

Hyderabad, April 16,
2014: Dubbing Lok Satta president Jaya Prakash Narayan as the marketing agent
of TDP President Chandrababu Naidu, YSRCP on Tuesday asked him to close shop
and merge his party with TDP.

Taking umbrage at
Jaya Prakash Narayan saying that he couldn’t understand the Amma Vodi scheme
mentioned in the YSRCP manifesto, party spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao
asked the Lok Satta leader to behave like a politician.

“There is nothing
complex in the scheme. The scheme is meant to encourage children in the poor
families to go to schools and colleges and pursue higher education for their
future development in all respects,” he said.

YSRCP President Sri
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy toured more than 30,000 km meeting people and
understanding their problems, he said. “With a strong resolve that all children
should pursue education for their economic wellbeing, our party President has
incorporated the scheme in the election manifesto. Jaya Prakash Narayan never
goes nearer to people as he is always away from them. How can he understand the
important issues concerning the people, especially the poor?” Gattu remarked.

Gattu said most of
the poor people are not sending their children to schools as they are
handicapped economically, he said. “It is not that they don’t want to send
their children to schools. It is because they are unable to send them,” he
stated, adding that the scheme is meant for such people.

Gattu further asked
Jaya Prakash Narayan to wind up his Lok Satta party and merge it with TDP as he
is acting on behalf of Naidu. “What is the use of continuing the party in such
circumstances?”

Gattu also came down
heavily on him for his comments against Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy. “Jaya Prakash Narayan
frequently poses himself as if he is a man of ethics. If that is true, why
didn’t he advise Chandrababu to face probe into the allegations of corruption
against him?” he asked.
