Visakhapatnam: Swiss challenge system was highly objectionable, mentioned former IAS officer and retired secretary of central ministry of power, EAS Sarma. Speaking at Visakhapatnam, he complained that the lands snatched from the farmers for the construction of the capital city were being given away to the consortium of foreign companies. He demanded the exposure of all the agreements done on the lands
EAS Sarma reminded that the Government's websites also lacked any information on the agreements. He stated that Swiss challenge system could only be used with the companies that had at least 51% partnership with the Government, defiance of which would mean violation of APIDEA regulations.
Sarma remarked that a lot of public money should be spent for compensation later and there was no welfare of people in this act, but the welfare of Singapore's companies. He exclaimed how the Chief Secretary could agree to the Swiss Challenge. He opined that the CM himself making all the interactions was not appreciable.
