Hyderabad, September6: YSR Congress honorary president Mrs. Vijayamma reiterated that higher education is a right to the poor and down trodden also. She said that endorsing the ideal, late Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy implemented the fee reimbursement programme for the poor people‘s education but the present government in the name of limitations causing much distress to them. Before she began her 2 day fast at Indira Park for demanding fee reimbursement, she addressed the gathering.
She also said that present government cannot think that poor people are not eligible for higher education and demanded the implementation of total reimbursement as it was carried at the time of Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy. She also said that the government is not spending from its pocket. She reminds that the government gets crores or rupees in the form taxes collected from the people and that is meant for welfare programmes.
She emphasized that poor people are not poor in education and the government in the name limitations, cannot create hurdles in their education.
