Crores Of Rupees Swallowed In Housing Project

Huzoor Nagar: TYSRCP president, Gattu Srikanth Reddy, complained that local MLA and former housing department minister, Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with contractors, had swallowed crores of rupees that had been sanctioned during Congress governance for providing shelter to the poor, without taking up construction. He visited Model colony near Phanigirigattu in Huzoor Nagar gram panchayat area. Then speaking to the media, he revealed that 2,160 G+1 buildings were planned to be built in 2012 with almost Rs.100 crore expenditure.

Gattu Srikanth Reddy opined that the project had come to a stop due to the failure of the minister of that time, Uttam Kumar Reddy. He added that crores of rupees of people's money had been rendered waste due to TRS Government's negligence towards the colony. He remarked that false expenditure estimation of Rs.5 lakh had been shown to rob huge amounts of money. He demanded that the corruption involved in the housing project should be probed and action should be taken.
