Contract Lecturers’ Demands Are Just

Hyderabad, Dec 29: Expressing solidarity with the lecturers who are working on contract basis and demanding regularization, YSR Congress has said that Chandrababu Naidu has been going back on his election promise and trying to replace the existing posts with his favoured few.
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday party state spokesperson Bathula Brahmananda Reddy said;’ before elections Chandrababu Naidu had promised to regularize the jobs of all lecturers who were working on contract and after coming to power he went back on the promise. Now the state has been issuing notices to the lecturers and even mulling to foist police cases to clear the way so that people close to TDP can get into the jobs.
‘We will not allow this as the demands of the lecturers on contract are very just and they are not asking anything new that Chandrababu Naidu has not promised during elections. We express full solidarity with the lecturers and condemn the state government action in issuing notices and trying to foist police cases on them to make way for TDP cadre.
We have seen Chandrababu Naidu showing great concern for contract lecturers and he was even present at a relay hunger strike camp at Rajahmundy in 2012 where he said that their jobs should be regularized. After coming to power he made a u-turn like many of his other pre-poll promises,’ he said.
YSR during his term had great concern for lecturers and had agreed to many of their demands while Chandrababu Naidu has been trying to play political games even in regularization, he said.
