Kadapa: YSR Congress Party has intensified its fight for achieving Kadapa steel plant, and as part its campaign today held Steel Plant Accomplishment protest at Jammalamadugu.
The party has been protesting against the indifference of the Centre and state governments on setting up a steel plant and has been campaigning with the slogan Kadapa Ukku - Andhrula Hakku (Kadapa steel is Andhra people's right). The party leaders blamed the BJP-TDP combine for Kadapa being denied the steel plant, though it was part of the promises made during bifurcation and said they would continue their fight until it is achieved.
It maybe recalled that YSRCP had been keeping up the momentum of protest and had organised Maha Dharna in Kadapa town on June 23 and on June 24 and 25 in Budwel and Rajampeta dharnas were held. Former MP YS Avinash Reddy, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Rajampet Parliamentary constituency president Amarnath Reddy, Kadapa Parliamentary constituency president Suresh Babu, Kadapa MLA Amjad Basha, and Produtturu MLA Rachamallu Siva Prasad Reddy were among many leaders who participated in the protest which will continue till 5 pmtoday.
The YSRCP leader Suresh Babu dubbed TDP MP CM Ramesh's protest as protest for money. He said the protests that YSRCP had taken up were for the cause of people. Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu was to be blamed for not setting up Kadapa steel plant, he added.
