Chandrababu Should Treat Bypolls As Referendum On SCS

Tanuku: YSRCP offcial spokesperson and senior party leader Vasireddy Padma said that it was conmedable on the part of the five YSRCP MPs who resigned their Lok Sabha seats to have made the sacrifice 14 months ahead of the General Elections. They did this fighting for the cause of Special Category Status (SCS) for the states, she pointed out. Vasireddy Padma also said that the party MPs would win by a decisive majority in case of byelections. She challenged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to treat the bypolls as a referendum on SCS to AP and resign in case of defeat.
Vasireddy Padma was speaking to the media after the interaction of the YSRCP MPs with the Lok Sabha Speaker during the course of which she assured them of acceptance of their resignations. She recalled the YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's words more than two years ago that if necessary the party MPs would resign their Lok Sabha seats for the sake of SCS. She added that YSRCP was only party in the state which had been fighting consistently for SCS over the last four years.
Vasireddy Padma demanded that Chandrababu apologise to the people of AP for having ridiculed the sacrifice of the MPs for the cause of the state. She added that at least now Chandrababu should get his MPs to resign from the Lok Sabha if he had any sense of shame. The party spokesperson remarked that though Chandrababu publicly walked out of NDA alliance, he was in secret, behind the scenes pacts with them.
