Hyderabad: YSRCP's MLC Ummareddy Venkateswarulu proclaimed that drought was at its supreme severity due to the indifference shown by Chandrababu's Government. Speaking to the media at the party's central office in Lotus Pond, he mentioned that the drought was at its highest level of severity in the history of the state. He expressed his distress about the increased occurance of farmers' suicides and cattle's deaths. He remarked that the courts were also condemning the state Government's failure and the central Government's indifference towards this issue.
Ummareddy mentioned that the labourers who went to work through Employment Guarantee Scheme were still not paid. He stated that discussion had happened about drought in the recent assembly sessions and the ruling party leaders as well as the opposition party leaders had spoken on this issue. Still the state Government had not adopted any steps in view of fighting drought, he complained. He added that the people of the state were suffering loss due to kack of timely action by the Government. Ummareddy explained that no justice was served as the drought report had not been submitted on time.
