Jammalamadugu: YSR Congress Party MP YS Avinash Reddy said that minister Adinarayana Reddy was afraid that his hold over the district and Jammalamadugu constituency was weakening hence he, along with the help of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu were promoting factionism in Rayalaseema region. Speaking to media along with the victims of yesterday's attack by the minister's supporters, Sampath and Ajarayya, the YSRCP MP said that the TDP minister was promoting attacks on YSRCP workers and pointed out the incidents of Pulivendala and Jammalamadugu as examples.
YS Avinash Reddy alleged that for many years, voting in Devagudi and surrounding villages was taking place unilaterally, while there were large numbers of YSRCP supporters. Recalling yesterday's incident he said he had come to the village Peddadundluru to bless the newly-wed couple. "Rattled by the support the YSRCP leaders and cadre were getting in the area, the minister had instigated his followers to attack."
The YSRCP supporters Sampath, Ajarayya, Ayyavaru and Subbirami Reddy were injured severely in the attack. The YSRCP MP alleged that the minister's son and brothers executed the plan from close quarters and even managed to evade getting arrested. "In fact police played the role of spectators while the TDP workers and minister's supporters attacked and damaged properties," he added.
