CBI has no intention of completing probe

Hyderabad, May 10,
2013: YSR Congress party Chief Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s wife Smt. Y.S.
Bharati said the case against her husband has been the result of political vendetta
unleashed by the Congress and CBI has no intention of completing the probe.

In an exclusive talk
with the NDTV on Thursday soon after the Supreme Court delivered its orders on
the bail petition of Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy, Smt. Bharati said even a small
child in the state knows that the cases filed against him by the CBI were
politically motivated .

“CBI wants to keep
Jagan Mohan Reddy in jail as long as possible and hence, it is not
investigating the case,” she observed, venting her anger against the central
investigating agency.

She said the CBI has
been investigating the case for the last 21 months. “During the hearing on bail
petition in October, CBI wanted 3 months’ time to complete the probe but it has
not yet completed the probe even after 8 months. Now they want 4 more months.
And soon after the Supreme Court judgment today, CBI lawyer Ashok Bhan said
they may seek more time after 4 months depending on the situation then,” Smt.
Bharati said, adding that CBI has no intention of completing the probe.

In fact, the CBI
officials are not investigating the case at all, she charged.

Smt. Bharati said the
cases were foisted on her husband as he came out of the Congress party.
Recently, Union Minister Kotla Surya Prakasha Reddy also said that Sri Jagan
Mohan Reddy would not get bail in the near future and he should have to merge
his party with the Congress some day or the other, she said, recalling another
Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad’s statement that Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy would
not have faced any cases had he continued in the Congress.

When asked whether she
believed that Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy would emerge as a stronger politician, Smt.
Bharati said even now also her husband is a political force to reckon with in
the state politics and would emerge stronger in the future.

“People know Sri Jagan
Mohan Reddy would stand by them and not let them down like the Congress and TDP
Chief Chandrababu Naidu,” she said and added the people would stand by him in
the next elections.

Smt. Bharati said that
everyone knows the cases against her husband are false and politically
motivated and people would teach a fitting lesson to the Congress during the
next elections.
