Eluru: TDP MLA of Denduluru constituency, Chintamaneni Prabhakar's atrocities have gone off the limits lately. A case has been registered against him for attacking journalists. At 3-town police station, a case has been registered on him as well as two more people.

AP Working Journalists' Union, AP Journalist Forum and district electronic media journalists slammed Chintamaneni's attack on journalists. They decided to hold agitation in phases against Chintamaneni. Protesting against the attack on reporters, journalists held an agitation on Thursday. On Friday, they staged a dharna in front of 3-Town police station of Eluru.

On last Wednesday, when 'Madhyahna Bhojana Pathakam' labourers had held a dharna in front of the collectorate, demanding rise in their pay and security to their jobs, Chintamaneni reached the place and shouted at them and threatened to oust them. A reporter of electronic media present on the location and APUWJ electronic media wing's district vice-president, Kadavakollu Sagar, recorded the incident on his mobile phone, leading to attack by Chintamaneni.

In the past, Chintamaneni had shown his rage by physically assaulting woman Tehsildar Vanajakshi, because of her hindering his sand mafia. He also attacked a forest officer at Atapaka sanctuary. He also has the history of threatening ICDS officers and intruding into Eluru 2-town police station and taking the accused away with him. Beating a police constable black and blue and using foul language towards Anganwadis are only more examples of his rage and misconduct.
