Hyderabad : Welcoming the High Court directive to transfer to National Investigation Agency (NIA) the case of attack on Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at Vizag airport, the YSR Congress expressed hope that all the people who were behind conspiracy would be brought to book by the investigating agency.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, party leaders PV Mithun Reddy, Alla Ramakirshna Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana said the High Court directive will bring out the facts and unravel the conspiracy as the Chandrababu Naidu government has been trying its best to dismiss the attack on the life of the Leader of Opposition as a petty, non-serious issue all the time.

Setting the tone for distorting and diluting the October 25 incident at Vizag airport, the DGP went to the press within 30 minutes after the attack stating that it was a minor issue, the attacker was alone, a fan of YSRCP besides naming his caste which was not warranted. This was followed by the Chief Minister parroting the same theory in the evening not only to cover up the main conspiracy but also to dilute it and give a direction to the process of investigation.

With DGP and Chief Minister giving their versions in tandem, no investigation report can go outside the margin and in this context it is necessary for an Agency, which is not under the control of State government, to carry out a thorough investigation to bring out the names of conspirators and their motive in the ghastly incident, from which YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had a providential escape. The press briefing was carried out even before the FIR was filed and the investigation had barely began, they said.

We welcome the ruling of the High Court to hand over the investigation to NIA and believe that justice will prevail and the names of conspirators will come out. As the efforts of TDP government to dilute the case have boomeranged, the facts will now come into the open, they said.

Chandrababu Niadu has been known for his double speak and opportunism to serve his personal gains as seen during the recent elections.He has broached the subject of a possible tie-up with TRS leader at the funeral of NTR’s son Harikrishna and when it was turned down, he leaned on Congress singing praises of Rahul and Sonia Gandhi, whom he had criticised severely till then.

After he was named in cash for vote case, Chandrababu Naidu has been speaking without any substance and has been raising irrelevant issues like the one on the wall clocks being distributed by MLA Tippa Reddy and some of them having the picture of KCR.

We have been successful in convincing the Court that the State Government cannot conduct an impartial inquiry and was trying to cover up the issue by spreading falsehood, they said and hoped that justice would now be done with the Central Agency taking up the investigation, said the party leaders.
