Sujana Chowdary is a covert agent of the TDP

YSR Congress Party leader and general secretary C. Ramachandraiah

Amaravati: Senior YSR Congress Party leader and general secretary C. Ramachandraiah flayed Rajya Sabha member Sujana Chowdary describing him as a covert agent of the TDP in the BJP. To see an individual who is driven only by self-interest, speak of interests of the state, is baffling, the YSRCP leader remarked, while addressing the media. He added that people like Sujana Chowdary had betrayed TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, he commented. Ramachandraiah pointed out that the YSR Congress Party government led by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was committed to fulfilling its party manifesto and striving to do so, as is evident in its functioning over the last two months.

TDP leaders claimed that World Bank funds are being denied to Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh. In fact WB funds would have imposed a heavy burden on the people of the state. The opposition TDP, found fault with the review of PPAs undertaken by the YSRCP government. Should Chandrababu worry about the people of the state or corporate houses?, he asked. Is the TDP chief scared that corporate houses would now have to cough up money which they had charged in excess. The senior YSRCP leader asked Chandrababu to be a people's advocate and not, devil's advocate.

Referring to Anna canteens set up during the TDP era, he said said that they were sources of unending corruption, as is being seen now. Instead of commending these measures to curb corruption, the BJP was criticising the new government which was unfortunate, he said. Why is that the BJP which criticised Chandrababu for his corruption till recently, was silent now, he asked. Ramachandraiah observed that the BJP was trying to fill the gap created by the TDP's near disappearance from the political scene in AP. There is nothing wrong per se in trying to fill this void, but the BJP was making a mistake in admitting economic terrorists and faction leaders.
