Amaravati: Ridiculing the remarks of Pawan Kalyan on YSR Kapu Nestam, YSRCP has said that Jana Sena has been showing its double standards and lack of political maturity as it was silent when the previous government had terrorized Kapu community during the reservation stir and said that funding of schemes can be done through Corporations which is not a new phenomenon.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Minister for Agriculture K Kannababu said that it is pathetic to see Pawan Kalyan commenting on State government and conveniently sidetracked the quota issue to Kapus. “Pawan Kalyan remained silent during the TDP term when Chandrababu Naidu government unleashed a reign of terror to sabotage the Kapu quota movement led by Mudragada Padmanabham. The actor did not come forward nor issued a statement at that time even when false cases were foisted on Kapu women,” he said
The minister said that the allegations of Pawan Kalyan on the allocation of more funds to the Kapu community is creating a rift between the castes is condemnable and questioned him which caste opposed the financial aid of the Kapus? It was TDP, which conducted praja sadhikara survey on caste basis and distributed pamphlets.
Pawan Kalyan is unable to hide his loyalty to Chandrababu Naidu and thus he is acting like a B team of TDP and leveling allegations on the State government and trying hard to find fault with the welfare schemes. “Pawan Kalyan, who has been touted for a casteless society, now talks about caste every day. While Chandrababu has filed cases on Kapu leaders, it is our Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who canceled all those cases and went out on a rescue.”
Minister Kannababu stated that Rs 354 crore have been put to use for Kapu Nestam scheme by benefiting 2,35,873Kapu women across the State. In a span of one year, YSRC government has spent Rs 4,769 Crores for Kapu welfare through various schemes, while during TDP rule in a period of five years only Rs 1874.67 Crores have been sanctioned for Kapu welfare. Funds to the schemes will be given through corporations only and TDP term was no exception to this. “While Naidu deceived the Kapu community in terms of reservations and poor allocations of funds, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has gone beyond the manifesto to benefit the Kapu community.”
Kapu community has benefitted from various other schemes like Amma Vodi, Rythu Bharosa and even under Nethanna Nestham, he said adding that Pawan Kalyan has neither clarity on what he is speaking nor can he defend his stand which is questionable.
