YSRCP delegation meets Governor, complaints coalition govt. misrule and neglect of YS Jagan’s security

Vijayawada, May 26: A delegation of the YSRCP, led by Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Botsa Satyanarayana, met Governor at Raj Bhavan to lodge a formal complaint against the coalition government’s authoritarian governance, undemocratic practices, and deliberate neglect of security for former Chief Minister and YSRCP leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The delegation, comprising former ministers Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Vellampalli Srinivasarao, Ambati Rambabu, Karumuri Nageswara Rao, Merugu Nagarjuna, Perni Venkatramaiah, Adimulapu Suresh, MLAs Tatiparthi Chandrasekhar, Busine Virupakshi, MLCs Lella Appireddy, Mondithoka Arunkumar, Kalpalata Reddy, former MLA Malladi Vishnu, and YSRCP NTR District President Devineni Avinash, highlighted the government’s vindictive actions, including the filing of false cases and failure to provide adequate security to YS Jagan, who holds Z plus category protection.

The YSRCP leaders condemned the coalition government, led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, for undermining democratic principles and resorting to political vendetta. They brought to the Governor’s attention the government’s failure to ensure YS Jagan’s safety during his public tours, accusing the administration of orchestrating conspiracies to tarnish his reputation. Specifically, they referenced a recent incident in Sattenapalli, where a fatal accident involving a private vehicle was falsely attributed to YS Jagan’s convoy. The delegation noted that the Palnadu District SP had initially clarified that the accident was caused by a private vehicle, not Jagan’s convoy, yet the police abruptly changed their stance three days later, registering baseless cases against Jagan and seizing his vehicle. “This is an unprecedented abuse of power. The government is fabricating cases to intimidate YSRCP leaders and suppress public support for YS Jagan, a leader with immense public backing,” Botsa Satyanarayana asserted.

The delegation further stated that the coalition government of engaging in diversionary tactics to deflect public discontent over unfulfilled promises made during its one-year tenure. “The government’s failure to deliver has sparked public outrage, and they are resorting to false narratives to shift focus,” Botsa stated. He emphasized that the YSRCP, as a responsible opposition, will continue to hold the government accountable and fight for the people’s welfare, undeterred by baseless cases.

Addressing remarks by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Home Minister Anitha, Botsa criticized their irresponsible statements regarding YS Jagan’s security. “Pawan Kalyan’s reckless rhetoric and the Home Minister’s claim that adequate security was provided to YS Jagan as an MLA are shameful. YS Jagan is not just an MLA but a former Chief Minister with Z+ security status. The government’s negligence is a deliberate attempt to endanger his life,” he declared. The delegation urged the Governor to intervene and protect democratic values in the state, emphasizing that such authoritarian governance is unprecedented in Andhra Pradesh’s post-independence history.

“No amount of false cases will deter us from fighting for justice. The people will ultimately hold this government accountable,” Botsa concluded, appealing to the Governor to ensure the restoration of democratic norms and the safety of opposition leaders.
