Tadepalli, July 29: Lambasting the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition for its vindictive attitude towards political adversaries and neglecting all sections of society by failing to implement poll promises, former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has called upon the Party cadre to brace up to expose the failures of the government and further strengthen the Party from grassroots as the future is waiting for their leadership.
Addressing the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting here on Tuesday, he said the coalition government is steeped in corruption and, to divert attention and cover up its failures in implementing welfare schemes, has been fabricating false cases against our party leaders and top officials with vendetta to spread fear.
But we are strong enough to face the challenges, as the Party itself was born out of struggle and stuck to its principles all the way, he said and told the members to be vigilant, united, and use the power of social media in exposing the failures of the coalition besides strengthening the Party from grassroots and getting ready for the brighter tomorrow, when people will realize and reconcile.
He gave a detailed account of how vindictive the government has been and arrested Mithun Reddy, Nandigama Suresh, Kakani Govardhan Reddy, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, and others. Mithun, along with Gowtham Reddy, were the youngsters who entered politics taking me as an inspiration, and he said he was more attached to them and their parents. The persecution of senior leader RK Roja and woman ZP Chairperson Uppala Harika, besides the harassment of Peddireddy at Tadipatri, shows the vindictive attitude of the Chandrababu government towards political adversaries.
On the other side, there has been rampant corruption, and the police have turned into collection agents for ruling party leaders. From sand to rice, liquor to gambling dens, all are run in mafia style. Liquor outlets have mushroomed, taking corruption and crime to the next level.
Education, medical, and agriculture sectors are totally neglected by stopping fee reimbursement and other initiatives, blunting Nadu-Nedu works, and putting Aarogyasri on hold by not paying bills to a tune of ₹4,200 crore. RBKs have become non-functional, adversely affecting farmers who are not getting MSP for their crops and the State failing to procure the produce.
Affirming that his government has a better fiscal record, YS Jagan said the total loans taken were ₹3.32 lakh crore during 2019–24, while Naidu has spent 52 percent of that amount in just 14 months. While the national revenue grew by 12 percent, the state’s revenue stagnated below 3 percent, with public funds going into private pockets. His Singapore trip is only to stash the looted funds.
YSRCP achievements include building ports, harbours, secretariats, village clinics, and medical colleges, and effectively managing a once-in-a-century pandemic.
The PAC members expressed grave concern over security lapses during YS Jagan’s tours and termed them as deliberate, as it happened at Bangarupalem. YS Jagan announced the launch of a Party app to document government injustices, allowing citizens to report harassment by individuals or officials. “We will hold the guilty accountable and ensure justice,” he assured.
Naidu’s actions will have consequences like the adage as you sow, so shall you reap, he said, and outlined the “Babu Surety, Mosam Guarantee” campaign, exposing Naidu’s unfulfilled promises reached mandal level and should be taken to the village level.
The movement reflects the public sentiment that YSRCP’s welfare-driven governance has been replaced by chaos.
He called upon the PAC members to form village and booth committees to ensure every worker is integrated into the party’s structure. “Our party will thrive for years, and every worker will be recognized with identity cards and significant roles,” he said.
“We have lost a good government, but the people’s support is with us. Together, we will restore justice, rebuild our state, and bring YSRCP back to power,” he said.
