Statewide YSRCP Women’s protests against Spurious Liquor

Vijayawada, Oct 8:  YSR Congress Party’s Women’s Wing staged widespread protests across Andhra Pradesh demanding an immediate end to the spurious liquor menace that has claimed several lives.

Protests were held in front of Excise Offices in Vijayawada, Tirupati, Kurnool, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Anantapur, and Nellore. Women leaders and activists smashed liquor bottles as a symbolic act, raising slogans such as “Stop Spurious Liquor,” “Down Down Fake Liquor CM Chandrababu,” and “Stop Nara’s Liquor.”

In Tirupati, women demanded immediate arrests of coalition government leaders involved in the racket. At Kurnool, they condemned the government for “killing people through counterfeit liquor” and called for the closure of belt shops. In Visakhapatnam, a protest led by KK Raju also saw women breaking bottles outside the Excise Office.

The YSRCP women leaders accused the Chandrababu-led coalition of dismantling government-run shops to hand over liquor sales to TDP leaders, enabling the spread of spurious liquor factories, belt shops, and illegal sales. They warned that unless strict action is taken, the movement will intensify across the State.
