Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed officials to take necessary steps to begin the functioning of Village Secretariats from October 2 and to issue the notification to fill up arising posts by July 15. YS Jagan held review meet with Panchayati Raj department on Thursday. He specifically instructed them that there should be no scope for corruption and any irregularity in filling up the posts through a district selection committee (DSC)
The Chief Minister told officials to communicate to the people that the posts in Village Secretariats were government jobs and they were, in addition, to already existing ones in the villages. He ordered them to train the youth securing jobs in the Village Secretariats to do the works assigned to them effectively. "That 10 more people in villages are getting these jobs is what should be communicated properly," he told them and added that one Village Secretariat would be set up for every 2,000 population.
