Tadepalli, June 3: Former Minister Ambati Rambabu sharply criticized Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his hostility toward the Kapu community, betraying promises and targeting Kapu activists with malicious intent.
He warned that the revival of court-dismissed Tuni incident cases against Kapu activists would lead to a unified response.
“We will hold a meeting and announce a decisive course of action on behalf of the Kapu community,” he asserted.
Rambabu highlighted Naidu’s 2014 election promise to include Kapus in the Backward Classes (BC) category, which spurred a movement led by Mudragada Padmanabham. This movement gained widespread support from Kapus across all political parties. However, the Naidu government falsely implicated Kapus in the Tuni train-burning incident, filing cases against activists. “Mudragada’s family was attacked, and he was confined, yet the entire Kapu community stood firmly behind him,” Rambabu stated.
He recalled a meeting in Hyderabad where he, Dasari Narayana Rao, Chiranjeevi, Ramachandrayya, and others gathered to support Mudragada, emphasizing, “Mudragada Padmanabham is not alone; the entire Kapu community stands with him.”
The former minister noted that former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy withdrew the cases against Kapu activists, a decision upheld when courts dismissed them.
Naidu’s sinister motives in reviving these baseless cases, questioning whether a Government Order (GO) was issued without Naidu or the Home Minister’s knowledge.
“If so, no one could be more incompetent than them,” he remarked.
He further criticized Naidu for deceiving Nagababu with unfulfilled promises of a ministerial post, mocking Naidu’s self-proclaimed “eagle eye” as a “blind eye.” Rambabu demanded that Naidu answer to the Kapu community for his failures, calling it shameful for Naidu to order an inquiry into his own government.
