Former Congress Union Minister and BC leader Killi Kruparani met ys jagan
Hyderabad: Former Congress Union Minister and BC leader from Srikakulam district, Killi Kruparani has expressed her interest to join the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). She met the YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at his Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad and conveyed her decision to join the party formally at Amaravati on February 28.
Speaking to the media after the meeting Kruparani said that after hearing the benefits promised by YS Jagan for the backward classes, during the BC Garjana in Eluru. His promise of allocating Rs 75,000 Crore for BC welfare in the coming five years was a landmark decision, and this had completely convinced her and she felt that it was only YS Jagan who could do justice to them.
Kruparani also alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had taken u-turn on the issue of Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh and that the people of AP were completely against his alliance with the Congress.
She said that a letter to Rahul Gandhi was also sent informing him about her decision. She also clarified that she hadn't joined the party for a party ticket but only with a firm belief that YSRCP should win the elections and that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should be the next Chief Minister.
Praja Sankalpa Yatra was a high-point on the political canvas of the state after the bifurcation and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has proved that he was a leader with commitment who could uplift the weaker sections she concluded.
