Govt is saving public money through reverse tendering

Minister Anil Kumar Yadav

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister Anil Kumar Yadav came down heavily on the previous TDP government over alleged corruption in irrigation projects. Speaking in the Assembly, the Minister said that, “The YSRCP government is saving public money through reverse tendering. Earlier, the TDP government, in the name of contracts, had indulged in malpractices, which had only benefitted contractors.”

“The TDP government had claimed that they had completed over 65% of the projects during their regime, but in reality, only 35% per cent of the projects were completed,” he alleged. “The TDP government had not started any work in regard with Polavaram,” he further said.

“For Polavaram Right canal works, the TDP government had given contract to a firm Excess Max, for 4.67%, but the YSRC government had quoted 15% percent less for the same company,” he further pointed out. The YSRCP government had stared works on Polavaram from November 1, the Minister informed the Assembly and added that by next season, the people in the low-lying areas will be shifted.
