Focus Would Be On SCS To AP

Amaravati: The newly elected Lok Sabha member from Hindupur, Gorantla Madhav said that MPs from the state would wage a struggle for Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh. Addressing the media after the YSR Congress Party parliamentary party meeting he said that the people had reposed tremendous confidence in the YSRCP and this added to the responsibility of the party representatives. For Andhra Pradesh to progress, SCS was a must, Gorantla Madhav observed. He also said that it was essential to carry other parties along and bring them to a consensus on this. The Hindupur MP pointed out that the party president and chief minister designate, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed all the MPs of the party to focus on SCS which was a lifeline for AP. YS Jagan also urged them to go their constituencies to gain a deeper insight into the problems being faced by the people.

"Our MPs are determined to move forward with SCS on top of the agenda for the state. I was moved to tears when I saw Bapatla MP Nandigama Suresh become emotional expressing his gratitude to our leader for his remarkable journey from a coolie to a Lok Sabha member. Similarly, I feel elated at my journey from a police station to the parliament," Gorantla Madhav stated. It may be recalled that he served as a circle inspector in AP police before being chosen by YS Jagan to represent Hindupur in the Lok Sabha.

Gorantla Madhav clarified that in the pic doing the rounds on social media, he had first saluted the higher police officials and not the other way around as was being said by some.
