Coalition Govt has crippled education and tribal welfare

Parvathipuram, 06 December 2025: Senior YSRCP leaders Peddi Rajashekar Dora, Pamula Pushpasreevani, and former MLA V. Kalavathi slammed Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the coalition government for destroying Andhra Pradesh’s education and healthcare systems within just 18 months of coming to power. Addressing the media at the YSRCP office, they said the CM’s visit to Parvathipuram and the Parent–Teacher Meeting held in a film-set-like classroom exposed the government’s incompetence and its inability to showcase even a single genuine achievement. They questioned how real school deficiencies can be understood when the meeting itself was staged with cinema settings because the government has not built even one classroom or one school since assuming office.
The leaders criticised Tribal Welfare Minister Gummadi Sandhyarani as a complete failure who has no knowledge of her own department and resorts only to personal attacks while neglecting tribal issues. They condemned her insensitive comments, pointing out that in 18 months the government has not completed a single school building sanctioned during the YSRCP tenure, including projects at Metta Valasa, Nagulu, and Pedda Valasa. They said the coalition government is surviving by changing names of schemes introduced by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy while abandoning the core benefits. Even the Tribal University sanctioned in 2023 with ₹830 crore was a result of YSRCP efforts, not the present government’s work.

The leaders highlighted that during YSRCP rule, revolutionary reforms transformed education through Nadu-Nedu, Vidya Deevena, Vasathi Deevena, Amma Vodi, tabs for students, digital classrooms and improved school infrastructure—benefiting lakhs of students. In contrast, the coalition government has reduced beneficiaries of “Talli Ki Vandhanam” from 83 lakh mothers to 66 lakh, cutting nearly ₹1,800 crore, and has accumulated massive arrears of ₹7,800 crore in fee reimbursement. They said lakhs of students are unable to obtain certificates due to unpaid reimbursements, while mid-day meal quality has collapsed, forcing children to bring food from home—something unseen during the YSRCP regime. They pointed out that enrolment in government and private schools together has fallen by 9.5 lakh students since the coalition took power, reflecting the steep decline in education standards.

YSRCP leaders strongly condemned the minister’s denial of responsibility in the recent cases of deaths of tribal girl students and the widespread jaundice outbreak in government schools—calling it a direct result of the coalition’s negligent governance. They reminded that even ex-gratia to bereaved families was not given, proving the government’s insensitivity. They also stated that the tribal welfare minister’s PA facing harassment allegations has shaken public confidence, yet action was taken only after the CMO intervened, contradicting the CM’s claims of women’s safety.
They criticised the CM for not announcing a single new development initiative for Parvathipuram district during his visit, betraying public expectations. Even the district’s own tribal welfare minister was not invited to the CM’s programme, exposing internal disrespect and discrimination. The leaders asserted that all major tribal projects—medical colleges, tribal university, ROFR pattas for 1.5 lakh farmers covering 3.2 lakh acres—were achieved during YSRCP’s rule, whereas the coalition government is only spreading falsehoods and hiding failures.
YSRCP leaders declared that Chandrababu Naidu and his ministers have no right to criticise Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, whose administration delivered real reforms and welfare. They challenged the coalition government to visit any school or tribal area of their choice to compare development executed under YSRCP with the present collapse. They concluded that the coalition government has betrayed tribal communities, dismantled welfare systems, destroyed education standards, and is now resorting to staged events, lies, and personal attacks to cover up its total governance failure.
